Our Beginning
- A Leap of Faith -
In 2020, Oscar was still a nutrition student at UQ. Starting up a photography studio was never on his mind, as it was totally unrelated to his major. When he was about to graduate, one night God gave him a vision through a dream. In that vision was a workplace, where people were praying for each other and worshipping God. While they were working, they worked with such joy from the Lord. The whole place was filled with love and God’s presence. When he saw this vision, he thought, “This is such a beautiful picture. But how could such a place exist in the real world?” Then God said, “Nothing is impossible with me.”
As a fresh graduate, starting a business was such a faraway dream for Oscar. But things evolved much faster than he thought. God guided and led him through different things, and he soon became a freelance photographer. With his wife’s unconditional support, he purchased all the necessary equipment and started running this studio called “Elohim Studio”.
“Elohim” in Hebrew means “the living God”. The studio was named “Elohim Studio”, because God, as opposed to any person, is the true owner of this studio, and we are only his steward.
For Oscar, starting a business at such a young age is crazy, especially when it was COVID time. But it is our firm belief that “God's work, done in God's way, will never lack God's supply” (a famous quote from British missionary Hudson Taylor).
For Oscar, Elohim Studio is not only a job, but also his way of serving God. Ever since the end of 2020, he has been making every effort to develop this studio, giving his 120%. The obstacles and challenges were beyond count. But it was also in this process that he learnt to rely on God, not on himself.
As the studio develops, Oscar begins to increasingly see where God is leading him. As a wedding photographer, he has been to many weddings. Yet the wedding ceremony is only the beginning of a marriage. What then leads to a successful marriage is always mutual respect, care, and Christ-like love. And only Jesus can give that unconditional love. Therefore, as our team strives to provide couples with the most professional services, we also hope to pass on that love and blessing from God. At last, we pray for a blessed wedding, and an even more blessed marriage to you, founded on the love of God. <3
